The NZ Primary Healthcare Awards are the country’s first national, independent primary healthcare awards involving pharmacy, general practice, nursing, practice management and friends of the primary healthcare industry.
The new awards put the spotlight on the work of primary care at large, supporting and rewarding innovation, collaboration and superlative outcomes in the primary healthcare sector.
The awards, which supersede the successful Pharmacy Awards, are being organised and co-hosted by The Health Media Ltd and the Pharmacy Guild of New Zealand.
We believe this national event with a broader scope covering more of primary care offers pharmacists a better platform to showcase excellence and influence throughout the sector.
Supporting the primary care sector
A strong primary care sector is crucial to a successful New Zealand health system, providing great care for patients and a great work environment.
The Health Media and the Pharmacy Guild believe the awards will encourage collaboration and innovation in primary care, and allow the healthcare sector in general, and the public, to see how hard primary care practitioners work to improve the health and wellbeing of all New Zealanders, and keep them out of the secondary care (hospital) system.
The collective aim is to improve access, health and wellbeing outcomes for Māori and non-Māori alike, and the awards celebrate the work that is already happening as a means to encouraging further collaboration.
