The New Zealand Primary Healthcare Awards | He Tohu Mauri Ora

Awards wish for a meteoric rise in 2022

Has primary care lost its spark? With two years of uniquely difficult toil and the uncertainties of sector reform, life has been tough! We understand. And we’re still not out of the woods. So, this year our awards are aimed at the heart of what makes Aotearoa amazing – our tenacity, our number 8 wire mentality, our ability to keep smiling through the toughest of times and our determination not to take our eye off the end goal – achieving equity in health outcomes and beyond.

Even when we’re still in the COVID cave – the awards remind us there is some light out here and that we can take a break to shake our tail feathers and have a bit of fun.

These awards will reward your innovation, creativity and tenacity – and we hope they’ll do their bit to put the sparkle back where it belongs.

Wishing you all a meteoric rise this year, in whatever way that means the most to you.

Let the awards begin!

He Tohu Mauri Ora

Mauri Mahi, Mauri Ora

Through the work you are all doing, our whānau, our community and our nation prosper.

Event organiser Susie Hill shares her top tips for entering the 2022 New Zealand Primary Healthcare Awards | He Tohu Mauri Ora.

Supporting the primary care sector

A strong primary care sector is crucial to a successful New Zealand health system, providing great care for patients and a great work environment.

The Health Media and the Pharmacy Guild of New Zealand believe the awards will encourage collaboration and innovation in primary care, and allow the healthcare sector and the public to see how hard primary care practitioners work to improve the health and wellbeing of all New Zealanders and keep them out of the secondary care (hospital) system.

The collective aim is to improve access, health and wellbeing outcomes for Māori and non-Māori alike, and the awards celebrate the work that is already happening to encourage further collaboration.

Awards gala dinner

Winners will be honoured at a glittering black-tie gala at the Cordis Hotel in Auckland on 07 May 2022. The night will celebrate and showcase the best of the best across primary healthcare in Aotearoa. It’s the perfect opportunity to socialise and network with your colleagues across the primary healthcare sector.
